Learning Points:

  • Draft a basic dress block.
  • Apply dart manipulation or slash and spread method to develop various types of dress patterns.
  • Label and mark individual pattern pieces with industry standard symbols and notches.
  • Sew and evaluate a dress toile for fit according to body measurements.
  • Sew the final dress based on given specifications/measurements.

  • TaF.tc Sewing Toolkit (available for purchase from SMH Craft).
  • Fabric requirements on what needs to be purchased will be given before the class starts.
  • Mobile device or laptop to access eBook, complete assignments and assessment.

Pre-requisites:

  • GCE N Level with a pass in English and Mathematics OR WPLN Level 4 and above.
  • Basic digital literacy in using applications on mobile/computer device to navigate on the Internet, and upload/download files.
  • Completed Basic Drafting and Sewing OR WSQ Develop Apparel Patterns through Drafting and Sew Basic Tops and Skirt.
